Iris Goldner Lang Odysseus Member for Croatia is welcoming in Zagreb early January a Conference “Migration and the Rule of Law” & Roundtable “The Role of Academics in Social Change” as well as a Jean Monnet Lecture Series

The following events are organized with the UNESCO Chair on Free Movement of People, Migration and Inter-Cultural Dialogue and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “EU Global Leadership in the Rule of Law”.

Several Odysseus members will be participating in the conference on Migration and the Rule of Law on the 17th of January 2020.

The roundtable Migration and Policy Reform: The Role of Academics in Social Change will take place in Zagreb, January 20 at 9:00.

Participating at the roundtable will be Sabi Ardalan, Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Asylum Representation: Perspectives from the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program
and Hiroshi Motomura, Making Law and Teaching Law: Lessons from a Policy Clinic, Moria Paz, Academics, Judges and Politicians Building Border Walls. Iris Goldner Lang will be moderating the debate.

The Jean Monnet Lecture Serie will figure Sabi Ardalan,  from Harvard Law School on The Definition of the Term “Refugee” in US, EU and International Law on January 13, 2020, at 9:30. François Maiani Odysseus Member’s for Switzerland will speak about The Right to Social Benefits of Mobile EU Citizens on January 16, 2020, at 17:00. January 20, 2020, at 14:00 a lecture will be held by Hiroshi Motomura from the UCLA School of Law on The Promise and Limits of Refugee Law. A final lecture by Sabi Ardalan & Iris Goldner Lang will touch on How are Migration and Asylum Policies Made? A View from the EU and the US on January 23, 2020, at 17:15.
