UNHCR and the Office of the UN Special Representative for International Migration are hosting an anniversary event for the New York Declaration. High-Level Meeting on the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants: One Year On Wednesday 20 September 2017 from 09:30 to 11:00 a.m. Secretariat Building – Conference Room 7, United Nations Headquarters, New York Speakers will include: - Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres - UN Special Representative for International Migration, Louise Arbour - UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi - Director General of the International Organization for Migration, William Lacy Swing The event will serve as a high-level briefing on the global compact on refugees and the global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration. The overarching objective is to mark the first anniversary of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, provide a comprehensive update on the two compacts, and solicit the views of representatives from across the international community on both topics. To attend: Due to limited capacity in the room, attendance is restricted and is expected at the Ministerial level. Permanent Missions should apply to attend using the request form.
