One Year after the presentation by the European Commission of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, time has come to assess the way it has been received and to recall the sequence of the works in Council and Parliament. This is why this European conference is organised. The enormous legislative package tackles the most important and difficult political and legal issues that the European Union and its Member States face and that will be discussed during the conference. Perspectives for the future negotiations seem so difficult that the survival of the pact becomes an open question at a moment when new migration crises cannot be ruled out.
