Our member Professor Thomas Spijkerboer (Ghent University) drafted with Professors Llen Desmet (Ghent University) and Eva Sevrin (KU Leuven, Ghent University) an expert report “How strict is the European Court of Human Rights in migration cases?”
The report argues against the statement, expressing their concerns about the migration case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) issued by 27 Council of Europe states. It demonstrates that the ECtHR has been more States-friendly rather than “migrant-friendly” in the last decade.
