Upcoming webinar by Odysseus members from the Netherlands: After the Vote – The EU Talent Pool in Europe’s Labour Mobility Strategy

Our Odysseus members from the Netherlands would like to share with you an invite to the upcoming GS4S webinar “After the Vote – The EU Talent Pool in Europe’s Labour Mobility Strategy”. The webinar will have Anna Strolenberg (Member of the European Parliament), Mauro Testaverde (Senior Economist, World Bank) and Tesseltje de Lange (Director, Centre for Migration Law, Radboud University) as speakers, with  Jasmijn Slootjes (Deputy Director, Migration Policy Institute Europe) taking the role of moderator. This event will take place on the 18th of March, from 13:00 to 14:00.

As the EU moves to implementation of the EU Talent Pool, this webinar takes a timely look at what the initiative reveals about Europe’s evolving labour mobility strategy. Following the European Parliament’s vote, this webinar will take stock of the vote on the new EU Talent Pool and what its final design means for the future of EU labour migration policy. Speakers will reflect on the negotiations that shaped the instrument, examine how its legal and institutional architecture may affect its impact in practice, and explore concrete lessons for effective implementation and employer engagement. Finally, the webinar will reflect on how the Talent Pool fits within the EU’s broader agenda on skills and competitiveness, fair and ethical recruitment, expanded legal pathways, and partnerships with third countries through identifying priorities for future policies.
