AFAR: Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum Seekers and Refugees is a four-year interdisciplinary research project that started in 2021. It investigates the use of new technologies in migration and asylum governance. In particular, it explores the concept of ‘fairness’ in automated decision-making processes, as well as in complex machine learning and artificial intelligence systems, and in related uses of digital identity mechanisms.
The Project leader at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb is one of our members Iris Goldner Lang.
