Martin Škamla worked for many years as a practicing lawyer specialised in asylum and immigration law. He worked with a number of non-governmental organisations in the field and cooperated with Trnava University in asylum law courses. Since 2007, he has participated in numerous research projects ran by the Odysseus network as the Slovak expert. He is a member of Slovak Bar Association.
