The Centre for Migration Law warmly invites you to the webinar: “Unpacking the Pact”

Tineke Strik, Odysseus Member of the Centre for Migration Law of the Radboud University (Netherlands) and Prof. Dr. Francesco Maiani, Odysseus Member for Switzerland will attend the webinar: “Unpacking the Pact” hosted by the  the Centre for Migration Law.

The webinar aims to take stock of the negotiations on the proposals for the Pact on Migration and Asylum (presented by the Commission in September 2020) and reflect on the developments (declaration on solidarity, positions of Parliament and Council, additional proposals like the SBC and instrumentalization) and their potential impact on the common standards and future practices, at the borders as well as across the EU Member States.

Are we heading towards a CEAS, or are we backtracking towards more divergence and derogations? And what does it all mean for the safeguards for asylum seekers, notably access to an asylum procedure, as well as for the distribution of responsibilities.

Friday 10 February 2023, from 9.30 to 11.00 am (CET)
